You can use Lightshot Screenshot in Mac and Windows. Https://app.prntscr.com/en/index.html. Source: 11 months ago
I came across this tool a few days ago and its pretty awesome so I just wanted to share, im sure there are others out there but for thoes that don't have and could use it's called Farlight. It lets you take a customizable screenshot with a border drag feature and save just the area you want to capture. Before I was using print screen and had to load it in gimp to crop it and scale it to size. Source: 11 months ago
I highly recommend LightShot for Mac and Windows. It lets you choose which part of the screen to capture and adjust if you messed up; save or clipboard it; and doodle, add arrows, highlight, and add text without having to bring it into Paint first! Source: about 1 year ago
Everytime I see it one of my ADHD personalities screetches like a banshee, and all the others join, including my whole self. If you have 2 big screens and don't want to post all that's on there, use Lightshot. Install, press the print key and choose the area you want to copy and send. And it's a fucking freeware. Lightshot: Lightshot is also one of the best screenshot tool to capture screen with lots of edit optios. - Source: dev.to / over 1 year ago
A thing I would like to add is that there are other methods for screenshotting if someone prefers it. The one I use is lightshot and I use this because I have two monitors so going ctrl + printscreen captures both screens and I don't want that. I also like that with lightshot you can select the area you want to screenshot instead of getting the whole screen and having to crop it later. Source: about 1 year ago
You can also use a screenshot program like Lightshot to take snippets and paste them into the image translator. It'd only takes a few seconds. Source: about 1 year ago

The app is kind of dated now, but I never needed an alternative too. I also use Lightshot who can do some drawings on screenshots, that's enough for my use case, maybe more suitable for you too. Source: over 1 year ago
Lightshot is almost perfect it takes over PrintScreen and lets you draw a border, add arrows and lines and text and copy to clipboard or save (or upload). The only thing I wish it had is keyboard shortcuts for arrow/line/text modes. Source: almost 2 years ago
Gyazo [link], Lightshoot [link] and ShareX [link] are screen capture and sharing solutions. I personally looked more closely into Gyazo, but all three solutions offer similar capabilities in terms of screen capturing and cloud storage; they do have differences though, as detailed in this article [link].
