  • Ask HN: Resources for Older Developers?
I suppose Senior developers, my self included, enjoy fast paces straight to the point learning resources. One of my favorite websites is https://egghead.io/ but some people do complain about behind a bit too fast. Overall, there is heaps of great tutorial on youtube. If you're looking for an online community mostly you'll be facing many people who are learning how to code. I would choose a specific software and... - Source: Hacker News / 10 months ago

Free React beginner course by Kent C. Dodds on egghead.io. - Source: dev.to / 12 months ago
  • React Courses
The egghead.io course look pretty cool and I think Kent Dobbs and Dan Abramov are pretty well respected in the React Community, but they are mostly 2 years old, I am worried they will be out of date in knowledge and stuff may be deprecated. I have done some frontendmasters.com stuff in the past, and I liked the devs there too. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Front-end dev with 3 years of experience but not much JS knowledge, where should I start?

  • Why I think video courses is superior to text courses while learning a language/framework
Thanks for the detailed thoughts. Since text is easier to navigate, maybe it is better for documentation and review since you can scan it so quickly. The site egghead.io has bit sized videos and the site puts a emphasis on on short and sweet. Haven't used it but seem interseting. Source: over 1 year ago

  • Help me with a career change - what options are there for a 38F with only retail experience?
It took her over a year to get there, and naturally we helped her along quite a bit, I gave her my old macbook pro, showed her which tutorials are best (team treehouse and later egghead.io) and helped her create her portfolio and profile pages on various freelance sites. • What Is the Hardest Part About Learning to Code?
I was subscribed to https://egghead.io/ in the past and I was blown away by the quality of their content. • Best free website to learn programming professionally?
In addition to recommendations that others have made, you might find Codecademy (beginner friendly, has some free content) or full stack open (free but expects you to already know fundamentals, so is not for a total beginner) or egghead or any number of platforms that will have some free and some paid content. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • What are your favorite course platforms for furthering your learning?

  • EGGHEAD.IO
The course I am doing at fullstackopen.com has a lot of the references to it. I would say if you have the money to spend and initiative to learn, go for it. The courses and videos do seem very well made, and have seen egghead.io name dropped all the time. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Frontend Developer Resources 2022
Most resources are free, but some are paid. I also highly recommend an egghead.io subscription. I've been a happy subscriber for quite a while now. If you have an educational stipend, I highly recommend egghead. - Source: dev.to / about 2 years ago
  • JavaScript Mastery
Kyle Simpson have very good videos on Front-End Masters. I've watched all of them when they where free for limited number of time. The service is monthly pay. I've also heard a lot good things about his books You Don't Know JS. You can get his book for free, also if you can't pay for Front-End Masters some of the videos are available on Torrents.
