Oracle still releases the OpenJDK code under an open source license, and that will work without the strings. AdoptOpenJDK has Windows binaries if that's the platform you are on. You can even install directly with Ninite. Cheers. Source: about 1 year ago

And I did mispeak it us 1.11, as that was the latest version with LTS on AdoptOpenJDK at the time it was implemented. I think it was talked down from 16, since it had no LTS. Source: over 1 year ago
