  • Did people really use "burner phones"?
I'm also curious because it seems like using a phone with no strings attached today seems almost impossible unless you get an actually old phone, which either works poorly or costs a lot as part of a retro collection or something. Even my iPhone 4S doesn't work if I boot it up, and that came out last decade. Of course, in terms of using a number for making a new account or subscription of sorts, one could still be... • I'm back and the chair has never been stronger.
You can also take this poll over at bettor edge, and whichever team gets the most votes, will get an extra 5k donated to their respective charity (the loser will still get a 1k donation). So if you are so inclined, head over there and vote for the huskers and Team Jack. Right now we're losing 65% to 35% to the gophers on who should get the extra donation so vote if you can! Note they ask for a phone number to... Source: 6 months ago
  • Why is Whatsapp so popular in India?
To be very frank, I was also thinking that another reason people tend to use Whatsapp is that it’s not really tied to any actual account as in the case of iCloud, right? It’s just a phone number that’s required, and so if you want to stay private, or just log in with a fake account, you can use a free phone number for verification, just as you would do with some disposable temporary mail when you want to log in to... • Has anyone used temporary phone numbers for app registration worth it?
While searching for another way out, I stumbled upon a service called quackr.io. It claims to provide temporary phone numbers for registration confirmation purposes. Using fake numbers for app verification is quite tempting, and I read that it's a savior when it comes to website registration. Still, I'm unsure if it's worth the effort because I also read many claiming that temporary phone numbers don't work with... Source: 8 months ago
  • Best sites for free sms
Idk if this is the right subreddit for this question, but hopin I dont get banned XD. I want to get a verification code for something, but I dont have a phone number that I can use. Does anyone know any free sms sites that will let me get a code? The only one I found so far is quackr.io, but the site where I want to verify says that it only accpets mobile numbers whenever I try on the numbers on quackr. Source: 9 months ago

  • free use phone numbers
Https://freephonenum.com/ is one example, googling "single use phone numbers" (no quotes) yield others, but be careful: lots of "verify your phone number" sites are now disallowing these numbers for verification. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Unlimited SMS code verification?
Sites like https://freephonenum.com/ will give you a free number, but some websites now block numbers like that, including google voice numbers. Not sure if anyone's blocking numbers from paid providers such as twilio. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Do you need a new phone number every time you create a new twitter account?
I think I’ve used https://freephonenum.com but I don’t remember, you can try it out if you don’t mind the risk. Or you could get another phone, maybe a prepaid one for a month or something like that. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Help understanding SMS Protocols (SMPP, SMCS’s and related services)
I have been trying to do research into how these free SMS receiving & sending websites & apps actually have the virtual mobile numbers that they list & you can select for use & actually receive messages to from normal telco registered numbers. I am really interested in understanding how they access the service numbers. How they register them, so they work on the international sms network. I’m referring to... Source: over 1 year ago
  • unban method (works one time)
This method only works for people who have just been banned for the first time but what I did was go on the site https://freephonenum.com and add one of those numbers when wizz asks you to sign up. If you don’t get a code just keep trying the other numbers they offer until you see the code pop up. This actually worked for me the first time I got banned. doesn’t work again after that.
