I am going to assume your client needs the optimizations not the server otherwise I would recommend paper. If you are looking for client sided optimization I'm going to recommend things like sodium, Iris Sharders, and lithium. I have used Optifine in the past and found it to be sub par when compared to those three but you might find different. I am going to recommend Atlaunch as Ive found it to be better than... 2nd, your solution would be to use an hybrid server software like mohist or arclight but I do not recommend those, as they're unstable & some plugins could simply not work (this mixes the forge & bukkit API). I don't know if aternos has this option, but if you make a forge server, you can add a mod called forgesponge, which will allow your server to add plugins as if they were mods, although plugin compatibility... In the case where things are on the ground, a clear lag plugin or mod will help. You're on forge, I recommend converting to a Mohist server (I haven't tried to see if Mohist could be used for a client pack tho) if you can, even if you're not going to use plugins, but you can, such as clear lag. https://mohistmc.com/ it's actually better that https://spongepowered.org.
