  • Best low latency private SRT streaming platform?
ClearView Flex and Evercast are good turn key services. If you want to DIY, https://wmspanel.com/nimble is quite decent. All are well under 2 seconds, with Evercast being the fastest. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Homelab server suggestions for live video production?
Within the server’s various VMs and containers (pretty much all Linux containers of some sort), most video signals will be shipped around using NDI. NDI uses CPU, not GPU, but isn’t terribly resource-heavy from what I can tell. I’ll likely have multiple instances of OBS deployed for source ingest (browser sources especially) and encoding/streaming/recording. It seems like I’d benefit from NVIDIA GPU here, as the... • We need more of Richard Stallman, not less
The organization and ideas should transcend an individual. The organization right now seems headed for irrelevance, when the ideas seem to be really more needed now that ever. Right now he’s and his camp are in charge, so if he and the group want to run it into the ground so be it. Hopefully the ideas live on and some group can carry it forward. I always thing back to media goblin as something that should be... - Source: Hacker News / 8 months ago
  • Looking for a selfhosted public photo album, ideally similar to Imgur
The closest one I can think of to imgur is Mediagoblin. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Self-Hosting Public-Facing NextCloud Server
Personally, I wouldn't use Nextcloud for photos. Instead, I'd look at Lychee, Media Goblin or something dedicated to photo hosting. Lychee looks great, but turned me off because when I looked at it, it seemed to be like Apple Photos in that it puts image files in a database file instead of just raw files in folders.
