I would say go with Navidrome and the substreamer app (for Android). I am using Navidrome for a year now with approximately +25 GBs music collection, and it has been a pleasant experience to set up and get used to. Here's the link for Navidrome GitHub: https://github.com/navidrome/navidrome and also the official website: https://navidrome.org. Source: about 1 year ago
I went looking on navidrome.org and through here, but I couldn't find such a document. Have I overlooked somewhere obvious? Source: about 1 year ago
Navidrome (free open source software from https://navidrome.org) is running on the Raspberry Pi 3 which is under my desk via a wired connection with it's own 'http://navidrome.local' custom domain name. This is what it looks like:. Source: over 2 years ago

I'm not sure if this would fit all your needs aside from running on Linux but Ampache [1][2] has been around for a very long time and has the ability to mesh with other instances. It started as a small project run by some students at OSU and evolved over time. [1] - https://ampache.org/ [2] - https://github.com/ampache/ampache. - Source: Hacker News / 9 months ago

Ampache. I've been using it for a while and it's great. I'd suggest using it with Ample, as Ample's UI is better. It supports the Subsonic API, so subsonic clients will work with it. It also supports DAAP and uPnP, for other clients. It has it's own API as well, but not many apps use that. Source: about 1 year ago
