As someone who's always on the lookout for the perfect productivity app, I was excited to try out Notion. It promises to be an all-in-one tool for everything from note-taking to project management to personal wikis.
From the moment you open Notion, you can tell that it's different from other productivity apps. The interface is sleek and modern, and it's easy to navigate. The app is divided into pages, which can be customized with different templates to fit your needs. You can create to-do lists, databases, wikis, calendars, and more.
One of the things I love about Notion is the ability to create relationships between pages. For example, you can create a database of your favorite books and then link to a page with your book reviews. Or you can create a to-do list and link to a page with notes about the task. This feature makes it easy to keep all of your information in one place and to connect related items.
Based on our record, Medium should be more popular than Notion. It has been mentiond 2134 times since March 2021. Hey HN community, I recently embarked on an exploration into the multifaceted aspects of self - delving into the primal, sensational, emotional, temporal, and soul dimensions that define our personal experiences and motivations. My journey is documented in a piece where I attempt to unravel the complex interplay between these layers, hoping to illuminate the pathways through which we navigate our inner cosmos.... - Source: Hacker News / about 12 hours ago
You might be interested in learning the reason hooks were invented [0]. I also use hooks in Flutter via a separate package and its creator made a great GitHub issue talking about exactly why class components cannot replicate the hook model [1], simply due to the limitations of how classes work. The code is in Dart but it's simple enough to grasp if you know JS and class concepts in general like overrides and... - Source: Hacker News / 1 day ago
Related: AWS key IDs (not the secret key part) include your account ID within them, bitshifted by one position: https://medium.com/@TalBeerySec/a-short-note-on-aws-key-id-f88cc4317489 These key IDs are included in the URL for pre-signed links to S3, so there's a good chance you've already been publishing your account ID. - Source: Hacker News / 2 days ago

I work on a large SPA: https://notion.so It’s a document editing application. A document title might occur in the browser’s titlebar, in the header of the main editor, in a “mention” (a link to the document), and in multiple places in the user’s sidebar - like in both their “Favorites” section and in the the contents of their team. When the user edits the document title, we need to update all those UI bits to... - Source: Hacker News / 5 months ago

I think Notion (notion.so) is a good tool for managing Captain's Log games (and RPG games in general) but there is a bit of a learning curve. If there is interest, I would consider writing a more detailed tutorial on how to use Notion for Captains Log (as I figure the game out). I'd also recommend Thomas Frank's website and youtube channel for tutorials on how to use Notion. Source: 6 months ago
