I use UML quite a bit but it's never really what I'm after, somnething more modern and fluid and gui driven that more people can use. Icepanel [1] looks really cool but I haven't tested it and I'm not sure it really fits my use case. It seems like it's mostly for api driven rpc/grpc/rest services when I kind of want to use it to visualize backend/infra/terraform sort of things. Might be interesting to you. 1. We started using https://icepanel.io/ for microservices, Software, anything thats documentable for later read. 2. More diagrams, less key strokes 3. We have dedicated page owners on confluence, its mix of engineers, leaders, PM's, QA etc. - Source: Hacker News / 8 days ago
The best tool for writing C4 documentation I have seen so far is https://icepanel.io/. - Source: Hacker News / 4 months ago
I really like the C4 model as part of a larger toolset. If you’re also using it then I recommend looking at https://icepanel.io/ Great tooling strongly based on C4, I use it a lot. - Source: Hacker News / 4 months ago

You are welcome! It’s a nice way of breaking down problems. You can go one step further and generate them from code using something like Structurizr (https://structurizr.org/) if you want to get fancy. Source: 10 months ago
Regarding documentation, I created the C4 model for visualising software architecture as a way to introduce some structure into architecture diagrams, because even today most of what I see is still ad hoc boxes and arrows, with little thought into what (abstractions) and how (notation) an architecture is described. My own tooling (https://structurizr.org) allows you to create multiple diagrams from a single model,... Source: 11 months ago
Would love to see a comparison to structurizr, which is a higher level dsl that essentially renders to any of the other three you're comparing. Source: about 1 year ago
I just watched a goto conference talk by Simon Brown on https://structurizr.org/. Source: over 1 year ago

Terrastruct - A diagramming tool for software architecture
draw.io - Online diagramming application
Archium.io - Archium gives your team an interactive architecture model of your system, created automatically from your distributed tracing data.
Diagrams - Diagrams lets you draw the cloud system architecture in Python code. It was born for prototyping a new system architecture without any design tools. You can also describe or visualize the existing system architecture as well.
LucidChart - LucidChart is the missing link in online productivity suites. LucidChart allows users to create, collaborate on, and publish attractive flowcharts and other diagrams from a web browser.
Carbide C4 - Stop diagramming and start modelling. Model your C4 software architecture with Carbide and share your vision with your team and colleagues today.
