5 Best Free Partition Managers for Windows
For Windows, GParted can be used inside any of your favourite Linux distribution’s Live USB, or you can just download GParted’s own bootable ISO. Because it doesn’t require an operating system to run (the GParted ISO has its own OS), you can use the GParted’s boot CD/DVD, or USB to partition your brand new disk as well.
Top 6 Partition Managers (CLI + GUI) for Linux
I have used fdisk, cfdisk and GParted for years. While fdisk may be more versatile, I prefer GParted because of its GUI.

10 Best Free Disk Partition Software Tools
Like GParted, Cute Partition Manager doesn't run from within the OS. Instead, you must install it to a bootable device like a disc or a flash drive. This means you can use it even if you don't have an operating system installed at all.

  • What to do with obsolete iMacs and MacBooks
As a retro tech enthusiast I beg of you not to trash them. Put them on facebook marketplace, craigslist, ebay, whatever. Nerds like me will take them off your hands happily, and regular people can still use them for daily tasks. I'm typing this out on a 2014 macbook pro, and I use a 2011 imac for any fun side projects I like doing so I don't mess up my main PC. You can also donate them to goodwill or salvation... • Hard drive showing 100% active time
Clone your drive with Gparted Live USB or Clonezilla Live USB. Source: 8 months ago
  • Remove Fedora from dual boot with Windows 11
If the recovery partition is between them you will have to move the recovery partition into the empty space using something like Gparted on a USB stick and then expand the C partition with disk partition or easeUS. Source: 11 months ago
  • Cannot extend partition after shrinking it
Where you trying to extend E: or F:? In any way I've heard that GParted may help with partition problems like this altough I'm not really sure. Source: 11 months ago
  • Extend c: drive partition in windows 10
In order to extend a partition, the unallocated space must immediately follow the partition. If there's something between the partition and the unallocated space, then you'll need to use a more sophisticated partition manager to rearrange things. GParted can do this, for example. I think Macrium Reflect can do this, too, though I usually use it for cloning. Source: 12 months ago

  • Installing windows and it says that driver is missing, not drives
You could, for example, boot your computer to an operating system which resides on a USB stick, and then examine the health of your existing drive.... Booting to something like Parted Magic, since it has most of the tools you'd need for "fixing" hard drives, already included with the OS. All that would take, is a USB stick, and a computer to download and mount the image on the stick (with a program like YUMI). Source: 9 months ago
  • Need help putting unallocated space to windows partition, any help would be appreciated
But, ranting aside, you can use either * GParted Live, or * PartedMagic To boot into a linux OS and modify the drive's partitions. Specifically you'll want to move the “D:” disk partition to make the unallocated space next to the disk partition you want to extend. Source: 9 months ago

  • I want to destroy a hdd(question). I threw it from a balcony 3m tall. Dunked it in water for like 10 days. Can I throw that thing in the trash knowing in the absurd chance someone picks it up, can't recover something?
For future reference, running something like Active KillDisk or Parted Magic against the drive multiple passes should be more than sufficient to prevent most all recovery unless you're dealing with a government entity. Source: 10 months ago
