PorkBun's answer:
PorkBun might be a bit more popular than Google Domains. We know about 91 links to it since March 2021 and only 77 links to Google Domains. We are tracking product recommendations and mentions on various public social media platforms and blogs. They can help you identify which product is more popular and what people think of it.
However, a key one to check out is Google Domains, because this is the only registrar which sells .dev domains. My advice is that .com is still the best if you can get one, so if there's one available that you like then go for it, but if not then .dev could be a great alternative. - Source: dev.to / 6 months ago
The website is still up https://domains.google/. Source: 8 months ago
Interesting that nothing is mentioned at the https://domains.google/ home page (not that surprising) nor inside the management console about this. I'd have expected at least a info header somewhere once logged in. Source: 9 months ago
Yet https://domains.google/ is has no mention of it and still invites people to move their domain to Google.... - Source: Hacker News / 9 months ago
If you want to, you can go to Google Domains, https://domains.google search for the domain name you want, register it, and go straight to setting up email. Source: 9 months ago
One thing you will need to do for yourself is buy the domain name. There are lots of good places. I’ve been a fan of Porkbun and Namesilo. I don’t think there’s a huge difference for which registrar you use, but I like these because they offer WHOIS privacy and email forwarding at no extra charge on top of their already low prices. - Source: dev.to / 21 days ago
One domain I have had for over 20 years was originally purchased with GoDaddy. I then transferred to Google Domains when that opened up for supposedly better integration with Google Workspace. Now Google Domains is closing up and transferring to Squarespace but I just received an email that they do not support Dynamic DNS (DDNS) so now I'm looking to transfer my domain again. I was thinking about going back to... - Source: Hacker News / 28 days ago
Check porkbun.com, namesilo.com, then namecheap.com. They offer most but not all TLDs but each offers a few the other doesn't. There are some that none of them offer so you can try GoDaddy but they're pricey. Those three are among your best bets for long term low pricing. Source: 3 months ago
218,691 registered domains. [1] $3M/month. M as in million, not mille [2]? Mille is still commonly used in accounting [3] $36M/year is $164.61 per registered domain per year. Porkbun [4] offer .ai $72.40/year. Even 3 letter domains don't seem to have premium pricing. Something in this unsourced tweet, literally, doesn't add up. BEST*: https://porkbun.com/ Personal opinion, this company was also new to me but a favorite to many others. This is also the second cheapest option at only a few cents more expensive than spaceship. They are known for having good support. Https://tld-list.com/registrars/porkbun/tlds. Source: 8 months ago
