Agenda Reviews

  1. Pretty but SO limited

There's no Find and Replace option. Even Apple Notes can do this. It is hard to navigate. Maybe it is just good for people who are project managers, but I need to manage my whole life.

    🏁 Competitors: Apple Notes
👍 Pros:    Responsive support team|Friendly and safe community
    👎 Cons:    Some missing features

Notion Reviews

  1. As someone who's always on the lookout for the perfect productivity app, I was excited to try out Notion. It promises to be an all-in-one tool for everything from note-taking to project management to personal wikis.

From the moment you open Notion, you can tell that it's different from other productivity apps. The interface is sleek and modern, and it's easy to navigate. The app is divided into pages, which can be customized with different templates to fit your needs. You can create to-do lists, databases, wikis, calendars, and more.

One of the things I love about Notion is the ability to create relationships between pages. For example, you can create a database of your favorite books and then link to a page with your book reviews. Or you can create a to-do list and link to a page with notes about the task. This feature makes it easy to keep all of your information in one place and to connect related items.

    🏁 Competitors: Microsoft Loop
    👍 Pros:    Highly customizable|All in one|Collaboration|Cross platform
    👎 Cons:    Steep learning curve

Notion: Notion is also not end-to-end encrypted and not considered a security-minded note-taking app. However, the product’s extensive templates for shopping lists, education, and project management have made it quite popular among consumers and students.

  • The case for an Agenda-Oriented UpNote: drawing inspiration from competitors
While exploring similar apps in the market (I recently got an iPhone XS), I stumbled upon two competitors that caught my attention: Agenda (https://agenda.com/) and Noteplan (https://noteplan.co/). Both these apps offer some remarkable features that, if integrated into UpNote, could take it to the next level. Allow me to share my thoughts and ignite a productive discussion within our user community. Source: 8 months ago
  • Note Taking Solution for Information Overload!
Specific solutions would vary based on what OS you use. If you use a Mac, I would strongly suggest looking at NotePlan. Agenda is a competitor and Mac only as well. Source: 10 months ago
  • Are subscriptions the doom of the tech sector?
Subscriptions for simple usage only make sense for a true service with an ongoing cost to the provider; cloud storage, email, movie streaming, etc. A subscription for a general-purpose application is incongruous; you’re purchasing a finished product with no ongoing costs, like a pair of shoes or a book, and it should cost a one-off fee that reflects the cost that went into producing it. What subscriptions are... - Source: Hacker News / about 1 year ago

  • This is why I always come back to using Apple Notes over everything else.
I also tried Agenda which looked like a great alternative to noteplan, but it didn’t really “click” for me. The app is really well made and polished, and the developer actively maintains it, but still the way it works doesn’t tick my boxes. Source: about 1 year ago

  • UI frameworks are stuck in the last decade
I work on a large SPA: https://notion.so It’s a document editing application. A document title might occur in the browser’s titlebar, in the header of the main editor, in a “mention” (a link to the document), and in multiple places in the user’s sidebar - like in both their “Favorites” section and in the the contents of their team. I think Notion (notion.so) is a good tool for managing Captain's Log games (and RPG games in general) but there is a bit of a learning curve.
